Xiaomi will aggressively price the launch of
MI8 in India next month
Xiaomi recently launched Mi 8 series in China. It should be its main lineup for series 2018. There were reports that the company would launch Mi 8 SE in India, but there is no official confirmation yet. However, a new report from the 91 mobile claims that Big Brother, MI 8 will be launched in India next month.
If this is
believed, then Xiaomi is going against OnePlus 6, Asus Zenfone 5Z with Mi 8.
The report says that Xiaomi will reduce oneplus in terms of pricing.
Information is obtained from three retailers in different states. The device's
launch date is still a mystery.
Xiaomi will
also launch its POCO brand in India. Under the new Xiaomi brand, the first
smartphone POCO F1 will be launched on August 22 and comes with the flagship
Snapdragon 845 chipset. The aim of the new sub-brand is to create the presence
of Xiaomi in the main segment in India.
The Mi 8 series also has all the key elements. It will be interesting to see how Xiaomi keeps these two devices in India. MI 8 Snapdragon comes with 845 chip with comes with more premium design language. On the other hand, POCO F1 is expected to be a brute artist.
In China, Mi
8 comes with 6 GB RAM / 64 GB in the storage version, which is CNY 2,699 (about
27,500 rupees). It comes in two more forms - 6 GB RAM / 128 GB storage which is
CNY 2,999 (approx. 30,500) and 6 GB RAM / 256 GB internal storage which comes
at a price of Rs. 3,299 (approximately Rs. 33,600). The company launched it in
White, Gold, Light Blue and Black color options. Xiaomi has also a MI 8
Explorer version with 8 GB RAM / 128GB storage, worth CNY 3,699 (about Rs
37,600).
