Some Lesser Known WhatsApp Tricks You Can Try



All known that the Whatsapp is the world largest chatting app. Almost everyone owns a smartphone and many of them uses WhatsApp, which is the Facebook-based instant messaging app, which has now evolved into a multipurpose platform. However, there are very few known tricks and tips that can help users to get the most out of WhatsApp.

Whatsapp Group: Restrict members from sending messages

WhatsAap enters many features to give more power to group admins / founders. The Group’s Admin can restrict members from sending messages and changing group icons, titles, and description. This can be done by tapping on "Group Settings" under "Group Info".

Additionally, admins can delete other admins by using long-pressing on admin's name in "group info" by using the "Dismiss as Admin" feature. However, group-founders cannot be dismissed as an admin.

Whatsapp users can share their location with contacts / groups in real-time. This can be done by clicking on the "attachment icon" within the chat and selecting "Share Live Location" for 15 minutes / 1 hour / 8 hours. Users can add comments and can cancel "Location-sharing" at any time.



This feature can be useful when you are lost anywhere or want someone like your parents or friends to track your movement.

Deleted messages: Users can delete sent messages and read deleted ones too.

Users can delete messages sent by selecting a special message and clicking "Delete" and using the "Delete for Everyone" feature. Whenever a message is removed, it is replaced with the message "This message was deleted" in the conversation between both the sender and the recipient.

Recipients, however, can use the third-party application such as Notification History and WhatsRemoved to read deleted messages that read the device's notifications and retrieve deleted messages.

Whatsapp web: Everyone using Whatsapp web should use these tricks

Whatsapp web (desktop / laptop) users can send emojies using "emoji button" near text area, but there is another fun way to do this.

Users can type a colon (:) and start entering 2-3 letters before emotions that they want to express directly to choose emoji; for example - "Happy:" displays all related emoji. Whatsapp changes web emoticons to ":-)" automatically in emoji.

Account Information Report: See what data collected by WhatsApp from you

Users can request "Account Info Report" to learn which are WhatsApp collecting data from them under "Settings > Account> Request Account Info".

The report includes the user's phone number, profile photo, device type, device manufacturer's name, previous IP which was connected, number of all contacts (including blocking), group names, etc.

Edit Images and create GIF within WhatsApp

Users can customize photos / videos before adding stickers, filters, and even text or even doodles.



Also, they can create their own GIFs on WhatsApp to reduce and reduce the length of "6 seconds" or less in the video editing section. Then they can see an option to convert a six-second (or less) video to a GIF.

Most whatsapp users don’t know that Whatsapp supports many other languages by which users can communicate with each other. Except English, Whatsapp currently supports ten Indian languages - Hindi, Bengali, Punjabi, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu, Kannada, Gujarati and Malayalam.

The app language can be changed by going to "Settings" and clicking on Chat> App Language> Click on any language.

Other tricks: Mark messages as unread, hear voice-messages via earpieces

You can mark reading messages as "unread" by selecting the user chat and selecting the "Mark as unread" option. However, it does not change anything for the sender.

There is another interesting tricks to hear the sound message. When you do not want to listen to voice notes via loudspeaker but not your earphones, you can hold the phone on your ear and listen to them automatically via earpiece.
